Who is Martin Katamba?

Mr Martin Katamba, the President and Owner of Katfam Photo is a passionate photographer and a holder of BBA, Accounting/ Management. Those who have interacted with Martin know him as a calm and friendly soul who stops at nothing to achieve whatever he sets to pursue. Other than photography, Martin Katamba loves sports and has a special liking for soccer.

His passion for photography goes way back and he has been an active photographer since 2002. Motivated by his personal experience in the photography industry, Martin set out to make things right by establishing a company that would give the lovers of photography and print the value and support they were looking for. Each one of his efforts at Katfam Photo goes to helping people capture, preserve and enjoy every special moment.

How It all Started

For most people, starting a business is best motivated by how lucrative it can get. After all, making profit is always the objective of every company. For Martin, his journey to entrepreneurship is fuelled by a personal story. It all started with picking a camera and pursuing what he was passionate about.

Martin begun by taking pictures of his family, a classic example of humble beginnings. In 2008, his resilience and dedication bore fruit. Martin Katamba opened a small business that majored in family portraits, wedding and event photography in his Ashland neighbourhood. It would later grow into a one stop company helping people share their stories through print media and photography.

Martin’s Inspiration

For every new venture, there are challenges and Martin experienced the difficulties that plague most photographers and photo lovers. As he sought for new and better ways to serve his clients, Martin couldn’t find a photo and print shop that combined pricing with quality service, support and selection. With his clients also struggling to find a trustworthy retailer, Martin took it upon himself to lessen the struggles of his fellow photography enthusiast. This marked the birth of Katfam Photo, retail division.

Martin aims at making it easy for people to access all services under one roof. Every satisfied client he serves is a success on his part and an affirmation that his efforts are making lives easier. He is committed to ensuring that his customers do not go through the same rough road he did during his beginner days.
